I know I have been good,
I havnt been phoney
and I feel so bonafide
of first degree qaulity
when the snow falls
i know its HIS blessings
When Nicoles making his list
i will be at top of this year
and i have been good for you
bcos all i want this xmas is you
ain't want nothing but you
right under my skin

i dont care about my frds
let them celebrate with champagne
i dnt care about those presents
let them lay under the Tree
i wnt put my shocks up on the wall
but sit besides the fireplace all night long
waiting for you
to kindle that warmth in me
waiting for you
wrapped in red satin
hung on my tree
for all i want this xmas is you
aint want nothing but you
right under my skin

the party is over
all have left the room
i am waiting for you
like a kid to be picked up soon
waiting for you to kiss
under the mistletoe
tonight i let you be my rider
All my doors are open
let me be your chanel sheath
Baby come
celebrate your christmas on me
there nothing better than this
and i want this xmas is you
aint want nothing but you
right under my skin

a unfinished poem for unfinished story

TREAT ME LIKE YOUR ONE TIME CELEBRATION...!

I know you’re my illusion, and don’t want any explanation
B’cos you smile is like canon, awakening my dead conscience
When the day gets toughen, your messages seems only option
Only you make me so light, when my life seemed so burnt
And I am standing at this junction, wanting to thank you zillion
Waiting for our fusion, treat me like your one time celebration!

I don’t know your intentions, Still don’t want any explanation
Bcos your eyes guide my navigation, you have become my direction
When the wintry nights make me frozen, your calls become my pain sanction
Only you can get me that high, only you can give me this shine
And I am standing at this junction, wanting to thank you zillion
Waiting for our fusion, treat me like your one time celebration!

I know we can never get woven, STILL! Still don’t want any explanation
This life is a living Dungeon, and I am ready to live in this isolation
B’cos when I’m bid at auction, I know you will take me as your win
Only you make me brazen, and I wonder where you have been
And I am standing at this junction, wanting to thank you zillion
Waiting for our fusion, treat me like your one time celebration!

WHO ARE YOU?
All you want is the silence for sometimes. All you want is to defeat that unstoppable merciless time and take a small amount of it’s infinity in your pockets and have it only for yourself. No work, no play , no love , no fights, no looking at mails , no bitching , no thinking what should I wear , not to worry about dinner tonight,  no waiting for the friends, no waiting for calls. NO.NO.NO. Just you.  How much time you take for yourself? Thinking about yourself. Do you nurture yourself?  Do you ask how you feeling today. Do you smile when you look at the mirror? Do you kiss yourself? Do you stand and contemplate how you have been a winner to reach upto this stage of life from being insignificant unicell or you just whine about how you have become a complex human character who has lost this faith in human feelings. Why have lost your trust in truth. Why can’t your heart find any way to healing? Why can’t your eyes weep? What made you a stone and when did you become one. Do you have an answer? Lost. Silence. Defeated.
Why do freshers have to prepare and mug for answering “tell me about yourself” for the interviews. Even if we are selected for the job and come out of the cabin victorious, haven’t we failed in the biggest and continuous test of Life yet again? We just don’t know who we are. Close your eyes and ask yourself what word describes you. And you baffle. You can’t think of a right word.
So are the trophies decorating the cupboard of your hall worthwhile? Are those medals on your uniform are your only identity? Those certificates in de files the only proof your existence?
What you really want? What makes you smile truly? WHO ARE YOU btw? doesnt that give you Hibidejeebidis? A Faceless Face. A Lifeless Life.
Rather than waiting for love from others why don’t you love yourself. Why don’t you smile at yourself than expecting from others? Why don’t you cry for yourself than for others?
I remember my dear friend’s post in FB “If somebody seriously wants to be in your life , he/she will seriously work to be in your life.” and I continue further ” If you seriously want to live a life, live your life, not somebody’s else.”
What differentiate us from non human beings is our human feelings. But with this shrunken hearts can we call humans anymore.
You might have won various battles. But you can’t win the war without knowing who you are.
Sometimes you need to close your eyes to truly open your eyes. All you need in your life is YOU to stand beside you and only then you can stand for others.

Am i Dreaming ?

AM I DREAMING

Can you feel this thing
Or am I dreaming
 It's too good to be true
So I guess I am dreaming
It Makes me feel brand new
 Body is burns like never,
Sweat shimmers as ever
You do things, I never knew
Satisfaction so guaranteed
My head goes on a wild spin,
When you take me as a win
Teasing and squeezing
Opening and closing
Slow , Go easy
 All night you keep me riding
Take me to the land,
where I ll keep exclaiming
A certified quality,When your raining
It makes me feel go lucky,
When you keep winning
I know ,I know I am dreaming!

Need to crack you down!!!

There's something about you;
And I keep looking at the way you;
keep pinging me, teasing me,
And I keep wondering at the way you;
keep easing me, dissing me,
Feels like there's a sign;
Even when u tie your shoe;
And though to me it makes no sense;
I can't recognize ; I need to revise;
But my temperature rise ,You fill me with craze;
I have to crack you down ;You are like a maze

You dusky ;So flirty; I know you are kinda fishy;
You keep throwing me like Frisbee;
As your mood swings from jaunty to crabby;
Your vibe, Your style, Your hairdo; it so classy;
When you sing Te Amo, There's no escape;
But to be Numb Encore, do it to me like Jay Z;
And though to me it makes no sense;
I can't recognize ; I need to revise;
But my temperature rise ,You fill me with craze;
I need to crack you down ;You are like a maze.

Your smile electrifies my nerves, get shimmered;
Your touch magnetizes me to you forward;
You Google me like a word; Oh! I am so captured;
A soft toy in your bed; Waiting to be loved;
Paint me black , I want to be colored ;
Shop me all night, want to make you addicted;
And though to me it makes no sense;
I cant recognize ; I need to revise;
But my temperature rise ;You fill me with craze;
I must , must crack you down ;You are like a maze.

Why are you RUDE to me!

Like an aimless cloud
Dark and overcast
ever ready to pour
at that thunder's thud;
Was living my shameful life
with head down
decaying to core
lost those hopes to bud.

Reminiscing those words
" Taken and Used "
the unforgettable curse
paralyzing each process;
Torn among  Trinity of
my desire want need
selfish to be nurse
time now don't reverse.

Brightening my dungeon
Go getter of radiant glow
flown in an aircraft
my Trinity has got a face
in form of you;
waiting , there's no option;
for your oyee hello babu malu
and to pick up a fight
fail to prove how in love
I am with you.

You  make me baby so;
unfoolish ;uncomplicated, un toto.
super strong when u buzz;
super high when you kiss.
hate you for i love you;
love you for i hate you.
I know those killer smile & moves;
you Rude! controlling my nerves.
stop playing with my heart so purple ;
each time you say good bye.

And all i want is to
smash into you rite now
singing "teenage dreams"
and blowing balloons
maybe this is worst dream
or a sweet nightmare
my guilty pleasure materializing
dont want to wake up
from you this time to be
broken hearted again

Though this sleep i know
gonna be short lived
roads are and will separate
these feelings may subside
and you shall remember
as yet another guy existing
you may have many cuties
all i ask to remember
that i have only you
your one in million

Atleast meet me halfway
I am waiting
Stop being Rude to me

"CORPORATE HIPOCRISY"

Lets face it. CSR is doing all good, good things. Of course, there's nothing wrong doing good but complications arise but thers no connection with what firms carry out in their business and CSR. Edward Freeman in his book "Stakeholder Theory: The State of the Art"says there will be serious implications as there is no connection between business functions and CSR, as the underlying structure of companies is  not to do good or remain morally neutral.

While checking out blog of Xieli Lee(refer:http://203.117.89.231/news/15544), he refers about Olam International's CEO Sunny Verghese speech in Singapore Human Capital Summit ,2009. He says " companies would set aside a certain percentage of the profits to give away to charitable causes but with another reason in mind. The real motivation was at the end of the year, we could inventorise all the good deeds we have done, score public relations brownie points and present that to the board or including it in the annual report."
Look at Bill Gates , George Soros to name few...Billionaires who worry about global problems, and use the riches gained by capitalist exploitation for the greater good. Is that double standard living??? Mr.Soros says " charity is part of the game, a humanitarian mask hiding the underlying economic exploitation". Bill Gates...A cruel businessman, destroying or buying out competitors, aiming at a virtual monopoly; on the other, the great philanthropist who makes a point of saying: 'What does it serve to have computers if people do not have enough to eat?"
Supporting Sceptic David Henderson , CSR is not meant to improve profitability but companies are using CSR to market themselves and build it as competitive advantage without implementating in their core business structure  and the results are whooping disasterous. Look at the recent financial debacle. It showed the results of separating Ethics and Capitalism. Large banks and financial institutions ...Goldman Sachs, Lehmann, Morgan Stanley to name a few ...were doing their part of CSR but they brought own the entire global economy because they couldn't connect ethics with what they do, to creat value or to fulfil their basic responsibilties  to stakeholders. A perfect example of what I say "CORPORATE HIPOCRISY!!!".
Well the point I am trying to make is that firms have got confused between doing good for society with their cunning business pratices. It's not aligned as firms taking CSR as different from business practices .

 current CSR model followed by companies

Companies’ failure to integrate their brand and CSR strategies is often the reason why thier  initiatives are not as well received or are as effective as intended. Stakeholders have become smart enough to understand that the firms are using the CSR activities as gimmick thanks to internet , websites and CSR reports.
Tying CSR in with business activities is the first step to successfully integrate CSR into business strategy.By analyzing how these competencies impact a business' stakeholders,
organizational boardrooms identify if stakeholders are negatively affected by their company's actions and also how they use their organization's core competencies in innovative ways that benefit stakeholders, society and business. When this is done CSR becomes sustainable development. CSR is a part of sustainable development or may I take liberty to say CSR evolved to SD in present times.

This diagram pictorially shows that SD is larger circle that emcompasses CSR. SD is shaping all the business practices to integrate CSR in social ,legal, technical and other aspects of the firm. Sustainability is the result of having such sustainable policies and processes, and aligning them so that goals in one area are not compromised in favour of those in another. Its a long term aproach unlike CSR which gives a benefits only for short time. It takes  a stakeholder aproach. Its considers both inside out as well as outside in aspect of the business.

Companies have slowly realised the difference between SD & CSR. Maybe its stakeholder pressure or its on internal realization( am I sounding pessimistic?), SD is catching up. While 53% of firms worldwide surveyed by the Economist Intelligence Unit claim to have a coherent sustainability policy, only half of these extend this beyond internal operations to encompass their supply chains. In all, less than one in three executives (29%) say their company has a coherent strategy that covers the whole business and its supply chain.

         Source: Economist Intelligence Unit survey, October 2007.

On careful look on the responses given by 1200 executives worldwide when asked the reasons for opting for SD in their firms we see, retaining customers, profitability and building image are of high priority. None of them are bother to improve society or envirnoment . SD for Ecological economic efficiency is only in theories that we learn.

SO is SD again a corporate gimmick??? After failure of CSR  high voltage drama show off by firms and increase pressure from stakeholder, firms have no option but to succumb to follow ethical practices or atleast pretend to do good. Common!!! As Mr. Soros says..."If there is a conflict between making money and doing good, making money will win out every time." Straight from horse's mouth. That's true. Firms are there to mint money and they go to any extent to put show their poker face in order to retain their profitability.

To concluded CSR and SD is not at fault but the intentions with what companies are practising it or pretending to practise is questionable. Its all in the ethics and morals after all ,which is again a huge topic of dicussion all together.

US SINO MONEY WAR

We are very well aware that US is the Major importer of Chinese goods.

Now the US is suffering from high level of unemployment rate i.e. stuck near 10% with the U.S. economy having shed 8.4 million jobs since December 2007 due to double digit recession (source :www.reuters.com). It wants to minimize it by providing the employment. For that it wants to give jobs to people. This can be done if it improves manufacturing sectors. There has to be demand for their goods in the country too. For that it has to reduce its import from China. US is asking China to revalue Yuan so as to it increases its price of their goods. As the prices increase, the demand for their goods in US and other countries will decrease and hence US can increase its manufacturing sector to provide employment and also to increase exports in order to improve their of Balance of payments (right it is expected that US deficit is 140% of its GDP).
China has always been blamed by the economist (including IMF on March 1 ,2010) for keeping their Yuan undervalued intentionally by to 40 percent because of this  China gives an unfair price advantage in international trade, takes jobs away from other countries and adds to global financial distortions.
Definitely China being notorious for Protectionist nation won’t let this happen. What will happen if China appreciates it Yuan? The demand for Chinese products will reduce as the price of the goods increases. Thus this will impact its exports, reducing the demand and increasing their unemployment rate. Will China do that? Never!!! But Chinese Vice Commerce Minister Zhong Shan bluntly said that it’s nobody interest to revalue Yuan anyways.
Moreover there is another school of thoughts by some economist that evaluation of the Yuan would not bring back U.S. jobs because many of the labor-intensive products Americans buy from China have not been made in the United States for decades(source: Reuters).
Some are weary that this could also be spark for US Sino Trade War affecting the International Trade on whole. China which holds $889 billion of U.S. government bonds and whose help is needed to tame the nuclear ambitions of Iran so US has can’t do much than requesting. But US is making policies such as anti dumping policy , strict tariff plans etc to indirectly curb China’s exports.
China on other side is asking to devalue US dollars for which US says that this will affect the entire Global Financial systems. China also says that US can increase it exports to China which has been stagnating for a long time.
Also China is under stress mainly because China is thinking this can lead to isolation in G20 meetings and moreover domestic factors and actors convinced China's leadership that diminishing marginal returns for keeping the Yuan fixed and massively undervalued had kicked in.

In the end what I think is right now the Ball is China’s court.

Corporate Social Responsible - An Understanding

THE BUSINESS COMMUNITY is more than familiar with the financial collapses of Adelphia Communications Corp., Tyco International Ltd., Global Crossing, WorldCom Inc., FINOVA Group Inc., Enron Corp., and HealthSouth Corp. Each company failed amidst allegations of financial mismanagement, poor decisions, and a lackof oversight. But the reality is that the tangible aspects of financial collapse begin with a severe erosion and eventual ruination of corporate and personal ethics.

Business Ethics is what is missing in their management which led to their downfall leading them to bankruptcy and destroying the faith of all its investors. Agreed all Business have to prosper. But when that NEED turns into GREED thats when the unethical practices begin.
Most common reasons for the aboved mentioned companies to go into drains is beacuse of the human greed. They made use of the loopholes in the accounting systems by trying to inflate the revenues and reduce their debts in their books. Classic Case of cooking books is the Satyam, the Indian IT company .Most of the companies cook their books for keep their credibility in the market and the faith of the investors. This helps the firms to get projects and loans from the investors and institutions. But the problem occures when this manipulation is not rectified and the firm becomes more greedy . Eveything goes haywire in accounting systems. Companies fall. Investors fall. The economic system tumbles.
Ethical issues is very controversial. Ethics means different for each person. How can Business ethics be practiced and instilled in each employees- from the lowest level to the managerial level? How it can be monitored? How much cheating is allowed in company (Well you can't deny that Business have to do some kind of hanky panky work to get things done.). If firm goes into bankruptcy who should to be blamed? Are Auditors too held responsible? Should the remianing employees be protected too? What about investors?
The questions are endless and the debate can go forever.

 These days due to globalization all the financial markets are interwined. Any problem in the one major company can have deep impact in the other countries too. The example for this is the lastest US recession which affect the entire global.
Thus its a very complex issue. But it has been tackled by various government and regulatory bodies to some extent around the world. A new concept CSR-Corporate Social Responsibility has come into Business world.
CSR is a form of corporate self regulation integrated into a business model. Ideally, CSR policy would function as a built-in, self-regulating mechanism whereby business would monitor and ensure its support to law, ethical standards, and international norms.(source: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Corporate_social_responsibility)
CSR helps to make business practices more transparent . This put more faith in the firms. These days when foriegn companies want to invest in particular company ,they check how strong CSR is. Thus CSR has become absolutely important to attract FDI and faith of the investors.
It reduces the insider tarding to large extent. the investors grievances are looked after .Moreover it attempts to make the nearby society a better place by improving the health, education and infrastructure.
Having good accounting and audit Check. Keeping all records unmanupilative and making them out public.
Because of good corporate goverance even the work enviornment becomes easy and smooth. There is no work and personal ethic conflict. Building a genuine culture of 'doing the right thing' within a corporation can offset the risks of being scandalous and tarishing the reputation. These days Companies trying to use their strong CSR as Competetive Advantage as their USP. CSR can play a role in building customer loyalty based on distinctive ethical values. Several major brands, such as The Co-operative Group, American Apparel , Infosys, IBM , TOYOTA and more are built on ethical values.
What differentiates them with others is the strong systems and pratices put in place which doesnt allow the mal practices. Everything is transparent. They comunicate their values to their investors and public with the service and product they supply.
But there are criticisms to CSR too.Shell has a much-publicized CSR policy and was a pioneer in Triple Bottom Line reporting, but this did not prevent the 2004 scandal concerning its misreporting of oil reserves, which seriously damaged its reputation and led to charges of hypocrisy.Critics concerned with corporate hypocrisy and insincerity generally suggest that better governmental and international regulation and enforcement, rather than voluntary measures, are necessary to ensure that companies behave in a socially responsible manner.
Thus in the end what we can conclude is that no matter what policies , sytems and regulation are used , Business can still find loophole and fraud. Ethics as I mentioned before is something cannot be taught. But if Businesses ,while maximising their profits, considers their stakeholders and thier long time saftey then they will they definitely not indulge into mal practices that will hurt stakeholder sentiments.
Things that can be done to avoid companies to bankrupt
1. A Strong Accounting System with proper Audit checks
2. Two Types of Audit checks- Internal & External checks
3. External Audit to be changed every 3 years.
4. A separate department that deals with ethical issuse of any kind in the firm
5. Encouraging Whistle Blowers and Anonymity to be safeguarded
6. Having regular meeting with various stakeholders so that they are informed with internal matters and get their inputs too.
7. Making a Governmental Union that sets guidelines what is expected from the companies and the authority to check it.
8.Penalizing the companies that do not adhere to the guidelines.
9. A proper financial Reporting system that is communicates all the financial details to the investors.
10. Educating the employees about the CSR and all the ethical practices. Rewarding for ethical prctices and punishing the unethical behavior.
11. Implemetating CSR in all kinds of work in business. Making employees corporate citizens.
Well these are all general guideline which I think that can help forms to avert crises.

Production Line Can be the Firms Competitive Advantage too ...AirBus VS Boeing

Major structural sections of the A380 , the largest aircraft, are built in France, Germany, Spain, and the United Kingdom. Due to their size, they are brought to the assembly hall  France by surface transportation and some by aircrafts. Components of the A380 are provided by suppliers from around the world; the five largest contributors, by value, are Rolls-Royce, Safran, United Technologies, General Electric and Goodrich.

This pic shows the logistic sequence of AirBus 380 (source:http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Airbus_A380)

On Other side of the spectrum we have Boeing which follows Centralized production method and moving line assembly line.

Thus Airbus uses Scattered Global Production Technique. Karan has fantastically jotted down all the points in his post leaving me nothing more to contribute. LOL. Anyways I’ll try to put my own analysis .Maybe some points will overlap.
  • Logically speaking, its very insane to keep Moving Line assembly for Aircrafts like Boeing. Because it a large Aircraft .We are not talking about Automobiles here.  Moreover Large Factory setting is required for the same. Machinery and raw material has to be brought to the factory. Thus this all increases cost of production because there is high use of logistics. Also there is fear of safety of the plant hence the manufacture of the Boeing itself. Anything happens to the Plant, the entire manufacture has to be stopped.
  • Because of scattered production of each part of Airbus, we can select firms which are specialized in doing the particular parts. Moreover each part will be undergoing its own Quality check at the place where it is manufactured also in the assembly place before it is joined. Thus dual Quality check is possible which is highly important in case of huge transportation carriage like AirBus. The safety is of prime importance. Quality is assured. The Airbus 380’s operating costs are cited at around 15 to 20 percent lower per seat. Add to this claims of fewer emissions, less noise, and a seat capacity stretching from the median 555 to a staggering 800 (double the heaving bottoms on a B747), and it’s small wonder airline accountants are beaming. Airbus claims its plane is more fuel efficient than a car. (source: http://www.smarttravelasia.com/AirbusVsBoeing.htm)
  • No need to establish huge Plants like Boeing. Since it the entire aircraft doesn’t have to move on the assembly line. It follows FIXED PRODUCT LINE. Does the land cost has reduced. Individual parts are manufactured in separate areas and transported .Thus it only involves transportation of parts to assembly plant. It will reduce the total operating cost.
  • In case of demand are high, Boeing manufacturers will have high pressure. Because they have to do achieve all in the same plant. They can’t afford to go wrong in any move else they fail to meet the targets. But in the case of Airbus, the workload is divided. Hence the workers and employers may not suffer for workload as they do in Boeing.
  •  The Most Important Point is in case of Boeing, the suppliers may have advantage over you. They know what your production levels are. In case when you want more materials, the suppliers can bargain with you .Hence leaving you high and dry.  But in case of AirBus, since separate parts are done by separate manufacturers. They don’t have much idea what is the happening in the actually in assembly parts. Moreover if suppliers start bargaining, the buyer can shift to any other firm since it’s the matter of one part to be made. Thus Buyer has the bargaining advantage.
  • Having said this it does not mean that Scattered production has not drawbacks. The main problem or hindrance in such method is managing all the production units. All the manufacturing firms must produce the parts at the same time or whatever the time is allocated. Different manufacturers will have different methods of production hence aligning and managing all the plants become a bottleneck. Moreover the material used for all parts by all different plants should be of same standard. Hence quality check becomes vital.
Well in the end ,what we can conclude is that production line also plays vital role in working of the organization. A correct and smartly fitted production technique and be your Firm’s COMPETETIVE ADVANTAGE.
